What is the Rotary Youth Exchange Program (RYEP)?

  • RYEP is an internationally recognized 11 month study and travel abroad for high school students.

  • Students must be at least 15 1/2 and no older than 18 1/2 at the time that the exchange begins, which is usually early to mid-August.

  • RYEP students are selected and sponsored by a Rotary Club in their home community and are hosted by a Rotary Club abroad.

  • Students will live, study and observe all facets of another culture. The exchange is a total cultural immersion including learning another language.

  • The Rotary Youth Exchange Program represents Rotary’s belief that working together we build a better world one student at a time.
